Artist Statement

As a textile artist and educator, I weave, sew and embroider intuitively, bringing my personal narrative into every piece. My work explores the sensory dimensions of art, inviting touch and contemplation. I currently work in exploring the complex interplay between connection and disconnection with the body, disability, chronic illness, neurodivergence and the experiences of pain, grief, and death. Through a multidisciplinary approach rooted in my unconventional background in clinical medicine, end-of-life care, and textile art, I create narrative sensory textile works that aim to challenge and reimagine perceptions and beauty. I am driven by the transformative power of fiber art to open dialogues on social engagement and inclusivity.
